I live in Vancouver, British Columbia. I live in a supported housing building run by the City and a non-proft society.  There are over 20 buildings in the works, it is the Mayor's plan to eliminate homelessnes by 2020.

Each suite has its own broadband and cable network provided by Telus, the province's  telecommunications provider.  What we don't all have is a phone.  Our connections are DSL, so I know there is a way to set up VOIP through our routers.  I have hooked up a box provided by a VOIP Provider succesfully to my router and had home phone access, so I know it works

I would like to see all tenants have private access to a phone, one public phone for 56 suites is nonsense, not mention complete invasions of privacy!

I would like to set up a solution first for the building I live in, and then hopefully expand to the other buildings run by the same non-profit, and who knows how far it can go!

My building is for adults with mental health issues at risk of homelessness.  There are 56 suites. We each have our own bachelor apartment, with ful facilities kitchen bathroom etcm cable and internet and other utlities and dinner everyday is included.  I know it would be a huge help for tenants to be able to have private phone calls, we need to talk to doctors a lot! We all have our own routers and private wifi networks, ethernet as well.
